Educational RAS for the Vodňany High School of Fishery
We had the opportunity to collaborate on an aquaponic greenhouse project for the secondary fishing school in Vodňany. Our task was to build and install an educational RAS consisting of two independent systems.
The horizontal RAS consists of circular rearing tanks, filtration technology, and a retention tank. This RAS is used for rearing thermophilic fish, particularly African catfish and Nile tilapia.
The vertical RAS consists of a rearing trough, filtration technology, and a retention tank. It is mounted on a stainless steel stand, forming a compact rearing unit with a vertical configuration. In an aquaponic greenhouse, it is used to rear fry of thermophilic fish.
Both systems are controlled and monitored by the SENECT control system, which monitors the basic physical and chemical parameters of the water in both systems in real time. It also controls and monitors the operation of all equipment, particularly the drum filter, pumps, UV lamps, heating system, automatic feeders, etc.
Aeration for both systems is provided by a central Roots blower manufactured by Kubíček Blowers.
The microclimate in the rearing facility is controlled by an air conditioning and heating unit that maintains constant humidity, temperature, and optimal CO2 concentration.
Any power outages are handled by an automatic diesel generator.
